Detention Policy

Detention is issued for being tardy to class or violating school or classroom rules. Detention lists are posted outside the main office, outside Room S7, in the B-building hallway and in the library each day.  A detention slip may be issued as a courtesy however not receiving a slip does not excuse the detention or the students responsibility to serve detention as required.

Parents/guardians are notified when detention is issued.

Detention is held every day in Room S7 at 11:45 AM. Failure to report to detention on time will result in further disciplinary action.

If an issued detention is excused it must be verified to the attendance office before 11:45 AM otherwise failure to serve detention will result in further disciplinary action.

The consequences, per quarter, for failing to serve detention are:

  • First occurrence will result in a conference with campus supervisor, a warning of 2nd offense consequences and a phone call home
  • Second occurrence will result in an in-house suspension and a phone call home
  • Third occurrence will result in an in-house suspension, a conference with Vice Principal and a phone call home
